Piper Maddox are partnered up with a very exciting battery manufacturer in Northern Europe who are seriously pushing the boundaries of Li-ion innovation. They specialise in the development and production of Li-ion batteries for Energy Storage Systems, with plans for 3 gigafactories!🔋


They are gearing up for production this year and now seeking a Development Process Engineer to own the Cell Formation Process for the development line.


In this role you will:
⚡ Support daily operations and development of products from concept to production, -while improving existing processes and performance.
⚡ Lead technical discussions, solve complex issues, and collaborate with teams on innovative solutions for battery performance, manufacturing, characterising and controlling critical process parameters.
⚡ Plan and execute process optimisations using DoE's, establish controls and documentation, and ensure smooth knowledge transfer from development to commercial production.


Your experience:
✅ Minimum 2 years of industrial experience in process engineering, cell design, or research in prismatic battery production, with a strong background in battery chemistry and components, especially active electrode materials.
✅ Proven ability to develop manufacturing processes, work with external suppliers, and apply engineering fundamentals to optimize hardware and process interactions, with knowledge in machine specification, DoE, and problem-solving.
✅ Strong organizational and teamwork skills, hands-on experience with Li-ion manufacturing.
✅ Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, chemistry, material science or similar.

For the last 20 years, this onshore renewable developer has been on a mission to support the transition to a net zero future. They have recently seen an influx of investment from a key investor in the renewable energy market which is seeing a great period of growth over the organisation for the coming years.
