Project Finance Analyst / Associate

Compensation: $140,000 – $170,000 base + bonus

Location: New York City or Denver, CO (Hybrid)

 

Piper Maddox is partnered with a rapidly growing renewable energy platform focused on acquiring, developing, financing, and operating distributed generation assets across the United States.

 

As the company's transaction pipeline continues to expand, they are looking to add a Project Finance Analyst / Associate to a highly collaborative team responsible for executing acquisitions, financings, and strategic project transactions. This is an execution-focused role offering direct exposure to senior leadership, live deals, and a growing portfolio of late-stage renewable energy projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain sophisticated financial models supporting acquisitions, project financings, and investment decisions
  • Lead financial due diligence and transaction execution across a portfolio of late-stage distributed generation projects
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams with development, legal, engineering, and executive leadership throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Evaluate project economics, investment returns, financing structures, and commercial assumptions
  • Support M&A activity, project acquisitions, and strategic financing initiatives from initial evaluation through closing
  • Work across multiple active transactions simultaneously in a collaborative, execution-driven environment

 

What We're Looking For

  • 3–6+ years of experience in renewable energy project finance, investment banking, M&A, corporate finance, or other transaction-intensive finance environments
  • Direct experience supporting live transactions, including financial modeling, due diligence, and deal execution
  • Strong background within distributed generation or renewable energy, with experience evaluating project-level investments
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with the ability to independently build and analyze complex transaction models
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility and strong technical performance throughout your career

Senior Project ManagerUtility-Scale Renewable EnergyA growing renewable energy company is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead utility-scale renewable energy projects from late-stage development through construction, commissioning, and operational handoff. Head of Project Development

Head of Project Development - Solar & BESS Portfolio London Office: 2-3 days per week Salary Range DOE: £100,000 - 120,000 + bonus & wider package Piper Maddox are currently supporting a leading international name in the renewable energy sector to hire a crucial leadership position in their UK & Ireland team. Our client has been a mainstay in the Energy industry for a number of decades now, building up a strong presence in multiple continents as a main player in the sector. Operating as a fully fledged independent power producer (IPP), this company have an excellent track record in the full project lifecycle for large-scale Solar and BESS projects. Alongside the development, construciton, and operation of their assets, they are also adept in structuring PPA's and offtake agreements on the back end of a project making them a truly full lifecycle business. Specific to the UK, they first established themselves as a leading provider of EPC services, working alongside some of the leading names in the UK renewable energy sector to bring projects from the RTB stage through construction, and into eventual operation. Following in the footsteps of some of their other international territories, they are now adding project development capabilities to their remit. They are looking to add an experienced leader to their existing project development team based in London. This role will play a leading role in developing and growing their portfolio of Solar and BESS projects in the UK & Ireland from both a greenfield and a commercial perspective. To stay agile within current market conditions, our client is currently developing a greenfield pipeline, alongside M&A acquisitions of new projects. In this role, you would be responsible for managing a multi-discipliniary team of professionals taking projects through key land, planning, environmental, and grid milestones towards the RTB stage, before handing over to the in-house construction team who will build these proejcts out. On the commercial side of things, you will be responsible for managing budgets & timelines, reporting at board level, as well as playing a key role in M&A transactions on the buy-side. In the London office, you would be joining a very collaborative and adaptable culture.
