About Us:

With over 25 years of experience providing expert technical advice to utilities & renewable energy companies, they specialize in both on-shore and off-shore renewables, including solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and wind energy.

 

About the Role:

As the Interconnection Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our business forward. They are looking for someone with 5-10 years of experience, a strong technical background, and a knack for business development. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Technical Excellence: Demonstrating proficiency in power flow studies and supporting the team in conducting these studies using PSS/E, PSCAD, Power Factory, ETAP or SKM.
  • Business Development: Selling the company's expertise to clients by understanding their unique challenges and offering tailored solutions.
  • Industry Insight: Leveraging your network and experience in the energy sector, ideally with a background in consulting or utility operations.
  • Regional Focus: While they primarily operate within SPP, PJM, and MISO, they welcome candidates with experience in other ISOs.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in energy consulting, utility operations, or related fields.
  • Strong technical skills with experience in power flow studies.
  • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred).

With a rapidly growing project portfolio, as well as a team made up of some of the industry's best.This company has put together a strong track record of delivering excellent project portfolios, boasting over 30 planning application submissions. This goes alongside a current project pipeline of over 10GW spread across 40 connection sites. Our client has put a high value on team collaboration and a particular focus on a three-pronged approach between land, planning, and grid. You would be joining a highly collaborative and innovative team, where clear communication throughout the business is promoted.In your role as a land manager, your position would include: > Identifying suitable pieces of land for renewable energy developments - solar & BESS. > Undergoing the commercial negotiations necessary to complete a land acquisition process. > Managing and maintaining strong and long-lasting landowner partnerships/relationships. > Liaising with the grid & planning teams to ensure full site feasibility.In terms of commercial negotiations, while all aspects of a land acquisition negotiation are important, experience in securing option agreements, as well as working on easements would be very valuable.This would be a fantastic opportunity for a land manager in the renewables sector to undertake a new challenge, or a chartered surveyor with renewables experience looking to move developer-side to be closer to projects.This company also puts a high value on transferrable skills - if you are a surveyor in rural space, or work predominantly on large scale utilities projects, it would definitely be worth a discussion!
