You will be working to create advanced battery systems and sub-systems that integrate perfectly with customer or OEM equipment. This will involve eliciting system requirements and defining system architecture that satisfies them.

Sitting in the development team, this is a hands-on role that will involve specification of design requirements, implementation of system design elements and support of the hardware/software engineers to produce final outputs that are fully verified and validated.
You will be involved in decision making, customer interactions and helping to create exciting products in one of the world's fastest growing industries.

Key Responsibilities
*Elicit system / product requirements from customers and project stakeholders.
*Define the architecture for new battery systems and sub-systems.
*Create requirements / system / technical specifications for products.
*Create full project and individual sub-system verification plans.
*Oversee the outputs of hardware, software and other systems engineers to ensure they meet design specifications.
*Support the design engineers in problem solving and key decision making.
*Develop and design hardware / software / system elements to meet relevant specifications.
*Carry out design optimisation for performance, safety and cost.
*Perform compliance / reliability analyses on product designs.
*Oversee hardware-software integration testing.
*System integration testing.
*Perform final product validation tasks including compliance testing / FAT / SAT.
*Work within with the company's engineering processes and development guidelines.
*Produce system user-guides / manuals.
*Lead the creation and maintenance of technical files as new products are introduced, or existing products are changed.
*Have a detailed and thorough understanding of our own products, and proactively seek to learn about competitors' products.
*Provide technical support to other areas of the business when required.
*Design and develop new products and product improvements, balancing innovative engineering design, functional requirements and aesthetic appeal with product safety, cost effectiveness, ease of manufacture, installation and maintainability.
*Assist the commercial team in creating quotations for potential new projects.
*Provide regular reports to senior members of staff on project progress.

Requirements

*Strong understanding of low-power electronic system design.
*Ability to perform full-system and sub-system reliability analyses (e.g. FMEAs)
*Ability to debug systems and take full responsibility and an active part in fixing problems.
*Expertise in hardware-software and full system integration.
*Respect for design specifications and a willingness to create, follow and maintain them.
*Ability to perform product compliance / product validation tasks.
