Components Developer for Lithium-Ion Batteries: Anode OR Cathode

The Role

Location: 45 minutes from central Stuttgart
Salary: from €80,000 depending on experience

Our client is looking for two motivated and experienced developers (m/f/d) who can lead the development of lithium-ion battery anodes OR Cathodes (two open positions). The area of responsibility includes formulation, testing and optimization of electrode materials for high performance lithium-ion batteries.

Development of anode (or cathode) electrodes for high performance lithium-ion batteries from formulation to commercialization.
Development of new electrode materials and optimization of existing materials to achieve desired battery performance metrics
Design experiments to evaluate electrode performance and perform data analysis to draw conclusions and recommendations
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including materials scientists, engineers, and chemists, to develop new battery products and technologies
Tracking the latest advances in lithium-ion battery technology and the competitive landscape
Creating technical reports, presentations, and patents to support intellectual property protection
Working with customers to understand their needs and tailor electrode development accordingly
Ensure projects are completed on time as well as on budget while maintaining the highest quality standards

A PhD in materials science, chemical engineering, or a related field with a focus on lithium-ion battery electrode development
At least 3 years of industrial experience in lithium-ion battery electrode development is an advantage
Expertise in electrode formulation and optimization and a deep understanding of battery materials science and electrochemistry
Strong problem solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome technical challenges
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex technical information to a wide range of stakeholders
Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment to achieve common goals and objectives
Familiarity with battery testing equipment, data analysis software, and relevant industry standards and regulations
