Development Director - London - NSIPs, Solar, and BESS - £100,000+ DOE (will look at people seeking a step up)

After securing nearly 6GW of transmission grid connections 2 major investors in the space have paired up to create a JV are seeking a Development Director to push this forward.

The JV is really ambitious, seeking entrepreneurial people to join them on their mission to be the leading energy developer in the UK. They're well-funded, with the investor being part of the joint venture. This means that they have easy access to their funds, removing red tape and allowing for quicker decision making.

For the most part, a common complaint I find with people in the development space is the lack of grid connections available but this company can guarantee work that will go all the way up until 2036, with the view of continuing to add more connections under their belt.

You'd be working under their new development arm of the organization, with the wider group investing, owning and operating the assets once they have been built, so you'll get to see your work come to life!

What would your role look like but not be limited to?:
-Looking at sites for the JV, checking any planning policies, identifying risks with the project etc.
-Stakeholder engagement both internally and externally to seamlessly interface with the development team, investors, etc.
-Managing consultants and also selecting which consultants to use.
-Understanding planning applications and stakeholder management with key people related to any planning matters.
-Managing a growing team and any parties related to the JV which don't sit internally.

A key attribute for this role will be someone who has a desire to grow within a company and reach heights most would not be given the opportunity to do. If you have ideas they will always be valued and listened to.

You won't be walking into something which is structured like some of the larger players in the industry, if you have been craving more autonomy and a board which you can work alongside to set up a working environment that breaks the usual boundaries this could be something worth chatting about.
