Key Responsibilities:
The selected Embedded Software Engineer will play a pivotal role within the organisation, contributing to the following key responsibilities:
* Collaborating with a team of talented engineers to design and develop embedded software for cutting-edge Powertrain systems, primarily using Embedded C
* Utilising model-based development tools like Matlab Simulink and Embedded Coder to create efficient and high-performance software.
* Implementing Autosar standards to ensure seamless integration and communication within the automotive ecosystem.
* Developing and maintaining communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
* Creating and optimising device drivers for various hardware components, ensuring system stability and reliability.

The Ideal Candidate:
Our client is in search of a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer who is passionate about automotive technology and possesses the drive to be at the forefront of Powertrain development. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in the following key skills and qualifications:
* Proficient in C programming for embedded systems.
* A deep understanding of embedded systems and their integration within the automotive environment.
* Understanding of model-based software development using Embedded Coder for code generation.
* Familiar with Automotive standards and processes.
* Knowledgeable about AUTOSAR architecture and its implementation in embedded systems.
* Hands-on experience with CAN, LIN, and Ethernet protocols.
* Familiar with SPI, I2C, UART
* Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Desirable Skills:
In addition to the key qualifications, the following technical skills and attributes would be highly desirable for the role:
* Experience developing device drivers for embedded systems.
* Experienced in writing low-level drivers for hardware components.
* Experience with real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS or AUTOSAR OS.
* Proficiency in software testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and debugging techniques.
* Familiarity with tools like Git for version control and configuration management.
* Knowledge of embedded Linux systems and development.
* Experience in developing software for safety-critical applications, adhering to ISO 26262 or other relevant safety standards.
* Basic scripting skills in Python for automation and testing.
* Previous experience or knowledge of powertrain systems, including engines, transmissions, and electric powertrains.
