A growing, joint venture in the utility scale solar and storage space is seeking a Grid Manager to join their team.

The Company:
The group is really ambitious, seeking entrepreneurial people to join them on their mission to be the leading energy developer in the UK. They're well-funded, with the investor being part of the joint venture. This means that they have easy access to their funds, removing red tape and allowing for quicker decision making.

This message is at the heart of the organisation, as they pride themselves on their entrepreneurial spirit. Their ability to make fast decisions and their hunger to grow, has resulted in achieving over 5GW of grid connections.

You'd be working in their new development arm of the organisation, with the wider group investing, owning and operating the assets once they have been built.

The role:
You'd be at the heart of the organisation, working on technical designs and advisory for the wider group. This would include working alongside development teams, technical teams and external agencies, as well as DNOs and the TSO.

As they've achieved 6GW of connections, you'd be managing this portfolio. Discovering new ways to optimise the connections, working on efficiency of connections and negotiating offers are also key elements to this position. As they have achieved connections, there's be a strong emphasis on this, but you'd also be working on new connections liaising with DNOS and the National Grid. Having a commercial background, managing relationships and negotiations would be highly valuable for this role.

A technical background would also be highly valuable for this role. Being able to understand and complete power systems studies would be essential for this role also. Finally, knowledge of grid codes and policies would also be great for this opportunity.
