The TSG Charge UK team is the UK's number one provider of engineering procurement construction and leads the way in the deployment and management of EV infrastructure. TSG offers game-changing EV charging solutions; it has installed over 20,000+ charging points in the UK and has recently won a large contract to deliver a charging network across Europe. TSG Charge is hardware agnostic and works with all major manufacturers, allowing the team to deliver charging installation projects that have maximum impact on communities across the continent.

The Head of Pre-Construction is designated to deliver work as delegated by the UK Director of Electrical Business, to supervise, design where necessary all electrical installations and manage discipline design deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

*Looking for someone to Lead a busy team within a high pace environment to take control of the electrical design and estimating process
*Produce CAD design deliverables in accordance with applicable client and industry standards. This includes but is not limited to: SLD's, Block Diagrams, Termination & Interconnection Diagrams, Schematics, BOM's, GA's and Cable Routing Drawings.
*Provide E&I input to 3D models, where applicable.
*The ability to produce drawings from site sketches to enable manufacture and installation of switchgear and distribution boards, feeder pillars.
*To ensure that applicable legislation, standards, and procedures are applied across all aspects of E&I delivery to the Project. These include but are not limited to: British and EN and ISO Standards, company procedures and processes, client codes and standards, HS&E Regulations and EU Directives (preferably including ATEX).
*To identify and implement safe, cost effective, fit for purpose, field proven designs.
*To maximise opportunities within design, to improve installation operability, safety and maintainability.
*To provide technical input during the design phase with an emphasis on safety, constructability, and maintainability of the design.
*To ensure that the cross-discipline Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Maintenance, Operational requirements are accounted for within the design as required by company or client specifics.
*To identify deviations to standards where necessary, ensuring acceptance and approval by client Technical representative or agent.
*To provide technical interfacing with all other disciplines, subcontractors, and specialist engineering vendors.
*To provide technical input to the close-out process (as-building).
*To liaise with vendors and to perform inspections of equipment against the design and purchase order requirements.
*To report progress against project plans, noting any areas of concern and identifying corrective actions.
*To meet the requirements of the agreed schedule identified within the project plan for the E&I deliverables as assigned.
*Identify increase or reduction in scope, liaising with the Line Manager as applicable.
*Responsible for the discipline content in generating or checking the estimated study, design and procurement costs into a Project CTR.
*Responsible for the control of approved design hours and cost within their own discipline, dealing with any potential growth in a timely manner and without exceeding approved budgets.
*To represent TSG UK to Clients and Sub-contractors in a professional manner.
*Identify appropriate resources for engineering works in accordance with agreed project plans.
*To provide technical input / authoring of the respective discipline element of a project including Basis of Design (BOD), Scope of Work (SOW) and Statement of Requirements (SOR).
*To provide technical assurance to a project that the BOD, SOW and/or SOR, where applicable, have been fully addressed in the design.
*To provide technical assurance to the project that previous lessons learned have been captured and incorporated into the current design.
*To provide technical input respective to discipline at project kick-off meetings.
*To provide technical input and review of TSG UK PEM and TEM documentation.
*To provide discipline technical participation in Design Reviews, Readiness Reviews, HAZIDs, HAZOPs and inter-disciplines IDCs.
*Competent electrical estimator, ideally with EV experience/knowledge if possible.
*Must be fully aligned with 18th Edition regs
*Ideally someone who has used/familiar with Trimble or similar application
