Piper Maddox is partnering with a major developer, owner & operator of DG solar projects.

Our client develops, finances, constructs, owns, and operates clean, renewable-energy projects in the United States, with projects spanning coast to coast. From beginning to end – origination through construction and then lifetime operation – customers work with a single delivery team. They offer integrated solar and battery-storage solutions to C&I, municipal, and utility customers, while its affiliate provides capital and owns the systems.

This Lead Engineering Manager will play a key part in the business's growth as they continue to innovate and expand its team. This is a newly created role within the EPC department, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering & Procurement and will act as a managerial position of a small team of engineers. As such, this candidate will have the opportunity to work on a high priority role within the firm.

Job specifications:

  • The purpose of this position is to manage the engineering department, responsible for overall project design delivery, and to be the authority on technical design specifications.

  • This candidate will interact with project management, supply chain, asset management, O&M, and external engineering firms.

  • They will manage a department with 4 other engineers as direct reports (who are focused on design) and will focus on resourcing among other management duties.

  • This person will cover some technical aspects of the role, acting as a subject matter expert by creating processes, updating standards, and acting as the first line of defense when investigating any issues.

Essential requirements:

  • The ideal candidate would be someone who has been doing this at another company and understands how to design these systems with an electrical engineering background.

  • Solar/Storage experience is preferred but will take someone from an engineering/consulting firm, or any kind of power generation company.

  • Bs in Engineering
