Responsibilities

Job Purpose & Key Accountabilities

The Portfolio Finance Analyst serves as the primary owner and point-of-contact of financing agreements across the Pattern Energy portfolio of construction and operating power generation and transmission assets, and of certain development and corporate financing facilities.  Main responsibilities include, among others:

  • Ensuring 100% compliance across the Pattern Energy portfolio of project financing, tax equity financing, equity financing, and other financing facility agreements, as applicable;

  • Serving as the point-of-contact and relationship manager for external financing partners;

  • Serving as the knowledge center across the Pattern Energy portfolio of financing agreements – this includes managing and interpreting complex financing agreements, performing contractual analysis, writing technical memorandum, etc.;

  • Owning the finance function and being the Managing Member (as applicable) across the Pattern Energy portfolio of financed assets – this includes performing ad-hoc financial analysis; working across financial funding / closing models and HLBV tracking models; producing and reviewing financial and operational reports; monitoring and tracking key financial, operational, and tax and partnership metrics and covenants; forecasting cash and determining cash distributions; budgeting; managing loan administration; interpreting financial statements; contributing to internal management reports; etc.; and

  • Supporting transactions such as closings, funding, refinancings, payoffs, and terminations; and leading certain financing process / transactions such as term conversions, formal consents, amendments, waivers, notices, etc. – this work also often includes reviewing, editing, and self-drafting technical legal agreements.

Qualifications

Education and Required Work Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years prior work experience in a related financial, contractual, energy, banking, portfolio management, asset management, accounting, and/or project management role

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Demonstrated history of increased responsibility

Additional Technical Skills

  • Ability to read, understand, navigate, and interpret complex legal contracts and financing structures – ability to draft legal documents a plus;

  • Strong excel skills with a foundation in quantitative / financial reasoning;

  • An understanding of project finance;

  • Effective professional writing and communication skills;

  • Proficiency in standard office software (e.g. Excel, MS Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.) - proficiency with MS D365 and XRM a plus.
