Piper Maddox has partnered with an innovative EV charging-as-a-service firm based out of the Boston area, promoting accessibility to EV charging that knows no limits. This business is the first of its kind, and offers on-demand mobile Level III charging services.
They are in search of a Senior/Staff Firmware Engineer to drive products from conception to completion. This position will work to architect firmware solutions for current and future products and subsystems, writing and maintaining firmware across all development stages, owning and driving source code, functionalities, and bug-fixes for products. This role will allow you to obtain knowledge on EV communication protocols and software safety standards driving the development of critical consumer products.
Responsibilities:
Architect firmware solutions for current and future products and subsystems
Write and maintain firmware specifications throughout product development life cycle
Drive development of source code, holding design reviews, and resolving issues, integrating feedback
Support design reviews for other engineers
Work in tandem with test teams to write procedures and test scripts for source code
Develop and maintain working knowledge of EV communication protocols and relevant software safety standards
Support in design, implementation, testing, and debugging of firmware
Requirements:
5 years of experience within a fast-paced, commercial engineering environment
Adept in Linux user space development (3+ years of experience)
Experience integrating IoT devices and coding associated software
Exposure to full product development life cycle from inception to launch
Experience within a heavy duty/industrial/high voltage hardware environment
Experience with bare metal or OS kernel C or C++ including some experience on 32-bit or 64-bit architectures (ARM preferred)
Experience with u-boot (or other bootloader)
Distributed source code management system experience (git, mercurial, bazaar, darcs, etc.)
