Piper Maddox are proud to announce our client's branch in Poland seek a Senior Operations Manager responsible for ensuring a cost efficient lifetime operations of our Solar PV assets as well as full HSE compliance.

Your responsibilities will cover the technical and commercial optimisation of these plants as well as the contract management with service providers, landowners and all external authorities.

A detailed description of the role and the candidate we seek can be found below:

Your Responsibilities:

Development Phase (up to Handover Development to Construction)
*Provide advice on designs for Engineering if necessary
*Collaborate with HSE department to set out O&M strategy and create cost assumptions for the Final Investment Decision stage.
*Tender and negotiate O&M contracts and main contracts for the operational phase or for creating an internal O&M team.
*Identify, evaluate and resolve all potential operational risks during the development phase
*Collaborate with the IT department to provide support for the EPC contract and specifications for SCADA/monitoring.


Construction Phase (from Handover Development to Construction until handover Construction to Operations):
*Use the O&M strategy to set up the Operations phase to ensure a successful takeover from the Construction Manager/Team at Provisional Acceptance
*Develop an Asset Management Plan to cover all activities which are both similar and necessary to manage the Assets in operation


Operations Phase (after Handover Construction to Operations):
*Manage all contracting (invoices, notifications, claims) with external service providers and monitor all work done to ensure it is within the contract's specifications
*Manage a team of O&M technicians, ensuring all relevant training is in place to perform to the desired standard
*Oversee and manage the O&M budget within the DSSP Process and delegated authority
*Optimise (technically as well as commercially) the Solar PV assets in your area of responsibility and standardise and digitalise work practices and systems.
*Strive to constantly improve current innovation and existing assets
*Comply with all HSE standards, both within company and national policy
*Manage the profit & loss performance of assets
*Provide analysis of assets in order to reduce operational costs
*Collaborate with the Construction Manager over the Punch List's work, ensuring all is completed
*Ensure all assets comply with all national and local codes and requirements
*Ensure all assets comply with HSE obligations
*Maintain high levels of communication with internal and external stakeholders

Your Profile:
*A Master's degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering)
*At least 7 years relevant work experience within operations of renewable assets (PV preferred, international experience considered an asset)
*Demonstrated history in effective O&M or Asset Management
*Strong, professional knowledge of power generation systems as well as sound technical knowledge about Solar PV assets or electrical systems (e.g. substations, transformers, inverters)
*Strong analytical skills matched with the required determination to constantly improve the operation of the assets
*Fluent in Polish and English (written and spoken, other languages not essential but considered an asset)
*A willingness to travel regularly
*A strong team player with excellent communication skills
