Piper Maddox is working alongside a leader in community and distributed solar and storage development who is seeking a passionate and driven Senior Associate of Development to play a pivotal role in accelerating energy storage projects across the United States.

Our client is empowering customers and communities with lower power bills and clean energy, leveraging a nearly three decades of expertise in renewables, utilities, and real estate. Their agile, policy-driven approach enables them to create impactful and valuable projects.

The Opportunity

As Senior Associate of Development, you'll take the lead in driving energy storage development in key U.S. markets. You will focus on greenfield development with speed and efficiency, managing land acquisition, interconnection, and permitting to establish a robust project pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Identification: Source, evaluate, and secure project sites through greenfield and M&A opportunities.
  • Project Development: Expedite land acquisition, interconnection agreements, and essential deliverables, such as title, survey, environmental diligence, and site plans.
  • Market Development: Analyze tariffs and regulatory developments to identify new energy storage opportunities.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets in collaboration with market teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, utilities, consultants, and other key stakeholders to accelerate project growth.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential project risks to ensure successful execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 1-4 years of experience in clean energy project development (distributed/C&I solar and storage experience preferred).
  • Self-starter with a detail-oriented, proactive approach.
  • Enthusiastic about working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
