Planning Manager - Bristol - Solar/BESS - salary DOE
Piper Maddox are working with a develop, build, finance, and operator of energy projects to find them a Planning Manager.
This developer currently has 2GW of solar and BESS projects in development, and 300MW under asset management. This portfolio includes a large-scale DCO, as well as multiple TCPA level projects.
This role would see you being responsible for leading the planning elements of each site, ensuring the projects remain viable, consentable, and buildable. You'd be working alongside project management, land, and grid colleagues to do this.
They are a smaller team and want to stay this way as they originally started out as a family run business so want to keep that family feel to their office and make sure everyone's voice is heard! Role and Responsibilities
*Appraising potential sites.
*Setting up strategy for planning.
*Preparation and submission of EIA Screening / Scoping Requests and Pre-Applications to the local planning authority.
*Using your planning knowledge to guide people internally and externally.
*Working with local stakeholders to ensure they are happy.
*Attendance at meetings with the local planning authorities and continued engagement with appointed case officers and statutory consultees.
*Preparation (or review if done externally) of Design & Access Statements, Planning Statements and EIA reports.
*Attendance of planning committees and reviewing of Committee Reports and draft planning conditions.
*Drafting / agreeing planning conditions with local authorities / stakeholders.
*Obtaining and reviewing consultation comments and coordinating responses.
*Discharge of pre-construction planning conditions.
This role would be perfect for someone who is either working in renewables or has all the transferable skills with an eagerness to get stuck into the energy sector. This role would also be great for people who are looking to step out of consultancy and into a key role as the sole planner for a company.
