As their new Grid Access Manager, your primary focus will be the connection of largescale, onshore renewable power plants in Germany. You'll be actively involved from the beginning of the connection process to its realisation, ensuring that you take full ownership for the grid connection lifecycle.
Whilst being a huge global player in the clean energy sector, this company maintains ambitious strategies for the growth of their business. They have invested €1.6 billion into renewable assets, and their German team has plans to triple in size! You will have an exciting role to play in an international group, with over 40,000 employees in offices across 6 continents.
The role is perfect for someone who has extensive knowledge of the German grid process as you will be the lead and central contact for Germany's onshore development. In particular, you will be highly skilled in the engineering and construction of HV substations and export lines for renewables power plants.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Full ownership in overseeing the lifecycle of grid connections, with a detailed understanding of German laws and regulations.
- You will develop feasibilities studies of the grid connections, as well as supporting business development with cost analysis, and liaising with stakeholders.
- Building and maintaining relationships with grid operators (DSO's and TSO's), ensuring grid compatibility tests are quickly obtained.
- You will actively seek and negotiate new strategies to complete the grid connection of the company's renewable assets.
- Reporting to the Head of Networks as required, to resolve any grid-related issues when appropriate. You will also be a key contact for senior management to offer expert advice on the grid connection strategy in Germany.
What we're looking for:
- 6-10 years' experience in grid access and grid connections of renewables.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in engineering and construction of substations and transmission lines.
