DIrector of Electrical Engineering (AVP)

Piper Maddox have just partnered with an established Solar Engineering firm in an effort to build out their Electrical Engineering department.

Currently, we are looking for an AVP of Electrical Engineering to lead & manage a team of 7.

This organization are one of the most well established Engineering consulting firms in the US, with more than 50 offices globally and over $250 Million in annual revenue.

  • Role overview:
  • You will be tasked with interacting with clients across the US (travel will be less than 2 days per month).
  • This position will inherit a team of 7, (5 EE's, 2 CAD Technicians) 
  • This role will be responsible for the entire Electrical group, including Design & Engineering.
  • Project management responsibilities, including scheduling, budgets & resource allocation (personnel & materials)
  • Business Development, combination of expanding current accounts & new business generation. 
  • Hands on engineering work, full A-Z of document processing, creating reports, drawings (where needed). Quality control work. 

A bit about you:

  • You will need prior experience leading Electrical Engineering teams. 
  • Ideally you will have an Electrical Engineering PE licences across various states
  • Background working for Engineering Consultancy firms.
  • Experience working on Large Scale Utility Solar projects (North of 100MW). Will consider large scale wind engineering

The company is a leader in traditional and renewable energy production and chemical manufacturing - dedicated to advancing technologies that reduce emissions and contribute to a sustainable energy future.   Role and Responsibilities:   Leading a multidisciplinary team focused on advancing technologies in areas like Direct Air Capture, and other innovative low carbon solutions. Driving cost reduction initiatives in key technology areas to align with business objectives. Evaluating and integrating Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) and lithium technologies into the company's strategic vision. Networking within the scientific community to identify and leverage novel CleanTech technologies. Collaborating with equity investment partners and joint ventures to accelerate development and commercialization.
