Piper Maddox has partnered up with a leading Tier 1 suppler within Electric Vehicles who are looking to expand. Our client is working on some of the most interesting and forward-thinking EV projects and are looking to expand the team with a number of high-level projects kicking off.

This role can be based in either Famington Hills, MI or Toronto, ON

The business is looking to expand their EV team and with that, are looking for Sr. Engineer - Power Electronics Simulation focusing on the Full-Cycle of Electric Motor, Battery, Inverter, and Converter Simulations.

We are looking for someone who is coming from an engineering background with

  • 3+ years of industry-relevant experience within circuit design, model and simulations.
  • The ideal candidate has experience in the development of simulation models for electric motors, inverters, batteries and BEV powertrains.
  • Experience must include BS in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent technical background. Mature understanding of electric motor and BEV powertrain design principles and R&D methodology. Strong analysis skills for predicting and verifying energy efficiency, drivability and NVH.
  • Demonstrated experience with CAE tools such as GT-Suite and associated model correlation and validation methodologies.
  • Bonus points for ability to use GT Sweep, MotorCad, Matlab, Python, or Simulink.
  • Create high integrity simulation models of advanced electrical motor and BEV applications to meet challenging performance targets.

With a robust international presence, we manage a fully operational pipeline of 4GW of utility-scale renewables across the global. They have been operating in the US for the past couple of year and currently executing over 2GW of solar and 1GW of standalone storage projects, poised to expand theirfootprint significantly. They are seeking a motivated Junior Power System Engineer to join our team and contribute to the forefront of renewable energy innovation. Your role will involve: Interconnection Application Evaluation: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and grid codes for renewable projects. Advanced Power System Modeling: Utilize PSS/E, PSCAD, and similar tools for steady-state and dynamic modeling. Design and Analysis: Create comprehensive one-line diagrams and develop circuit models to optimize component performance.
