What You'll Do:

  • Lead commercial negotiations for BESS projects, including energy services agreements, tolling agreements, and offtake structures.
  • Act as a strategic partner for corporate and utility clients, advising them on energy storage participation, risk mitigation, and revenue generation strategies.
  • Identify and originate new business opportunities in energy storage markets, collaborating closely with project developers and asset owners.
  • Own and refine commercial frameworks to support BESS transactions, ensuring optimal deal structuring for clients.
  • Work alongside power market analysts, developers, and financiers to optimize storage asset monetization strategies.
  • Contribute to a fast-growing team in a start-up-style division within a well-established industry leader.

What We're Looking For:

  • 8+ years of experience in energy, renewables, or battery storage, with at least 3+ years focused on BESS.
  • Expertise in commercial structuring, energy procurement, and BESS asset monetization.
  • Deep knowledge of power markets (PJM, ERCOT, CAISO, MISO, WECC) and corporate energy procurement trends.
  • Strong negotiation experience with PPAs, ESAs, tolling agreements, and energy storage contracts.
  • Proven track record in business development, deal structuring, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to analyze energy economics and optimize battery storage assets for financial success.

The Role As the Director of Power Origination, you will be a leader in sourcing, negotiating, and structuring complex contracts. You will manage a team within Power Resources, delivering value for the portfolio. You will be responsible for a wide range of energy procurement activities, including GHG-free energy, asset controlling supply, and renewable energy. Responsibilities Manage complex energy contracts, resolve issues, monitor performance, validate invoices, and renewable energy credits.
