Role: Electrical Engineer (PV + BESS)

Piper Maddox are partnered with a leading EPC who are looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across the UK. This role sits within a growing technical team and offers broad exposure from early-stage design through to construction and commissioning.

The Role

You’ll support the full electrical design process on large-scale solar and energy storage projects, working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams. Key activities include:

  • Producing AC/DC electrical designs, layouts, SLDs, cable sizing and protection schemes
  • Preparing wiring diagrams, earthing layouts and technical documentation
  • Reviewing technical specifications, tender requirements and design risks
  • Supporting project delivery teams with engineering guidance during construction
  • Liaising with technical advisors, sales, purchasing, and project teams
  • Creating as-built documentation and ensuring designs meet deadlines and standards

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • HNC/HND or degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in a renewable, DNO/ICP, consultancy or similar engineering environment
  • Knowledge of UK/international electrical standards
  • Experience with PV design, PVSyst, G99, earthing design, or BESS is highly desirable.
