Piper Maddox has teamed up with a leading U.S. solar financier and developer specializing in utility-scale solar projects. Together, we are looking for a Project Controls Engineer.

This innovative company distinguishes itself from traditional solar IPPs. With approximately 150 employees, they have excelled in asset management, project development, trading, and fund management. They have formed notable partnerships with a prominent international energy infrastructure fund and well-known institutional partners.

The company has financed or developed over $2 billion worth of solar energy assets to date. We collaborate with some of the world's largest corporations to create a carbon-free and sustainable future. The company has been founder-led throughout its history and is supported by one of the largest private equity firms globally

Ideally you will be based in Washington DC for this role, however they will consider remote based candidates.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in scheduling.
  • Build and maintain standard schedules using the Critical Path Method for development projects.
  • Develop schedules to aid in project acquisition efforts.
  • Provide support to internal Project Developers in creating and monitoring project timelines.
  • Evaluate construction schedules to identify potential risks, changes in the critical path, and other adjustments during the construction phase.
  • Work with Project Managers to identify and report on risks to key milestones by comparing actual progress against scheduled progress.
  • Assist with budget management tasks during pre-construction and construction phases, updating expenditure forecasts based on changes in the EPC or Owner Furnished Equipment contracts.

 

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera, with a focus on the Critical Path Method.
  • At least three years of experience supporting budget management.
  • PMP Certification is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in renewable project development or construction is advantageous.

Position: Senior Project EngineerWe are seeking a hands-on Senior Project Engineer to drive the development and implementation of our innovative clean energy technologies and solutions.
