Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 + 30% Bonus

 

About Us: Piper Maddox has partnered with a dynamic, Chicago-based renewable project development company with deep roots as a former. Our small yet highly skilled team prides itself on a "lean and nice" approach, committed to ethical business practices and excellent stakeholder relationships. As we expand our role into becoming an Independent Power Producer (IPP), we are seeking a talented Development Engineering Manager to join our team.

 

The Role: As a Development Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development of utility-scale solar and storage projects. You’ll manage the processes involved in project development, collaborate with consultants and engineers, and oversee the progression of multiple projects across various states. This role offers a unique opportunity to step into a leadership position, with responsibilities including:

  • Leading initial design and energy assessments for solar and BESS projects
  • Managing relationships with developers, permitting agencies, and county authorities
  • Overseeing the design process, including 30% design packages and RFPs
  • Ensuring critical QA/QC points are addressed during the construction phase
  • Coordinating with O&M asset management firms and managing energy delivery and PPA requirements

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in development engineering, with a focus on utility-scale solar and storage projects
  • P.E. License preferred but not required for stamping drawings
  • Strong experience with project development processes, energy assessments, and design management
  • Ability to handle multiple projects across different states and manage diverse teams of consultants and engineers
