CycloTech are an Austrian based research and development organisation who have been established since 2004. They have developed an innovative propulsion system for applications in the aviation industry but are specifically targeting UAM, UAS and UAV aircraft.
CycloTech’s patented technology is currently the only Cyclogyro rotor concept worldwide that can rotate at high speed and efficiently deliver sufficient thrust for a truly competitive alternative aircraft propulsion.
The challenges they were facing.
In 2020 and as a team of 15, Cylotech were planning their strategy for entering the market. The business was bought by an Austrian investment firm and they identified the need to hire an Executive level candidate with a breadth of experience from the Aerospace industry to help them on their journey.
The solutions we presented.
Given the seniority of the requirement and the sensitivity of the assignment, Piper Maddox were engaged on a retained basis – charging a small portion of the placement fee up-front to secure the service.
Eight candidates were introduced. All of whom were interviewed. Following a rigorous interview process, three candidates were identified as potential hires. Eventually, the preferred choice accepted the position and onboarded with the team in 2021.
