JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIESReporting to the V.P. of Project Development, the Director of Project Development will partner with the growing team and build upon the company’s 12 plus years of developmental work to commercialize DME, methanol and other emerging clean fuels in global markets. This role will be an integral part of the Company’s Commercial Development team, developing clean fuels projects whileworking across the supply chain, providing thought leadership and analytical solutions. Specifically, on the project development side: Identify and assess new development, feedstock supply, and market opportunities that fit the Oberon development strategy. Take over existing project development opportunities and be able to ‘run with it’ Drive improvements to the Oberon project economic model, reflecting changes relevant to projects, new and upcoming policy, new products, and new markets. Foster existing and develop new supply chain relationships from a project, partner, advocacy, and oversight perspective. Assist in the further development of the Oberon operational framework. Assist in the procurement of biogas feedstock, such as dairy and swine manure, food waste, and agricultural waste, or raw biogas, to enable the construction of DME production facilities near feedstock streams. Assist in the procurement of renewable natural gas (RNG) as a feedstock Assist in the procurement of renewable methanol as a feedstock In partnership with Oberon’s regulatory and legislative teams, work with state and federal governments on regulatory, grant, and project support issues. Educate supply chain partners about the Oberon opportunity to convert waste streams to clean-burning fuels, creating new revenue streams for waste suppliers and additional offtake options for biogas developers and suppliers.Oberon Fuels Associate Director of Project Development Develop and strengthen relationships with agricultural, biogas, methanol and other industries , including representing Oberon at industry events. Demonstrated strengths in working in highly cross-functional teams. Experienced project manager with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Able to cold-call supplier prospects and “sell” the Oberon opportunity. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION, TRAITS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree – technical background preferred but not required. Experience in developing biogas, RNG, biodiesel or other renewable liquid fuels Experience working in the agriculture, waste, energy, transportation, or chemical industries Thorough understanding of the project development lifecycle, including key stage gates and funding impact Experience in negotiating key project contracts – partnership agreements, land acquisition and feedstock agreements Thorough understanding of renewable fuels and the clean energy transition Thorough understanding of U.S. renewable fuel incentive and credit programs at the federal and state level 7+ years of business experience with experience working with project-level financial models, Microsoft Excel, and communicating complex concepts to a variety of audiences Core traits: Grit, Adaptable, Collaborative, Purpose Driven, Sense of Humor Location: Position entails working remotely.
