Enel is the world's largest privately held Renewable Energy Developer.

The Partnership.

Enel is the world's largest privately held Renewable Energy Developer, with around 90GW of wind, solar, geothermal, and hydropower plants installed in Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Oceania.

Enel Green Power is an arm of Enel, which is Europe’s largest Utility in terms of EBITDA (Earnings). Present in over 30 countries globally, they came to the US with a vision to become one of the largest IPPs in North America. They already have a presence in over 15 US states and in Canada, which includes over 60 plants already in operation and close to 7GW capacity - wind, geothermal, solar & energy storage.

Their goal is to put down 100GW of additional capacity (installed) in the next 10 years! Although they have not given a specific figure on how much will be in the US, 1/3 of their total global CAPEX spend for the next 10 years will be in the US.

At the time of engagement, Enel employed 300 people in the US and with plans to grow that to 1,500 in the next six to eight years.


The challenges they were facing.

Enel was going through a huge expansion of their US business, across most of their key market segments including, Wind, Solar, Energy Storage & Charging Infrastructure.

They did not have the internal resources available for a huge staffing drive.

Their goal was both a short term staffing drive to hire 30+ people in six months in 2021, and also a continued drive to hire another 20-30 people through 2022.


The solutions we presented.

Enel had a big internal recruitment team, however, due to the demand for talent in the business, they needed to engage with a specialist recruitment business that could help them attract the best talent in the market at scale, across many positions.

Piper Maddox was able to mobilize a delivery team from its 73 specialist recruiters to deliver across a large volume of roles in a very short period of time, all channeledthrough a single point of contact, the Account Manager, and work in tandem with the internal TA team at Enel. We offered support across a very wide range of roles and business units.

This was across Project Development, field technicians,M&A, Engineering, Project Management, Contract Managers, Procurement, GIS, Real Estate Management, Origination, Construction, Project Finance, Interconnection & many more.



We were able to deliver an exceptional quality of service, identify the top talent across the market, give each candidate an exceptional recruitment experience, and organize this delivery in a way that was easy for the Enel TA team to manage.

Throughout the entire partnership (2020 – 2022) we were engaged in 68 individual vacancies, we presented 303 candidates, of which 176 were selected for interview, resulting in a total of 60 placements.

For the period April 1st, 2021 to November 30th, 2021, we were engaged on 36 individual vacancies, we presented 104 candidates, of which 71 were selected for interviews, resulting in a total 34 placements.
