Senior Project Engineer
Location: North-west England (Hybrid)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £65,000

Piper Maddox are working with a global renewable energy IPP who have a pipeline exceeding 25GW. As they further expand in the UK, they are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects.

You will take a lead in developing technical designs, managing project engineering through various phases, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and optimise technical designs using PVsyst, PVCase, and other tools.
* Lead engineering workstreams from feasibility to detailed design and construction.
* Coordinate with technical advisors, contractors, and survey providers.
* Prepare technical documentation for tenders, contracts, and project approvals.
* Oversee technical compliance during installation and commissioning.
* Support due diligence and interface with external consultants, ICPs, and Owner's Engineers.

Candidate Profile
* Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy Engineering, or similar.
* Experience with utility-scale solar PV and/or battery projects.
* Proficiency in solar design software (PVsyst, PVCase).
* Good understanding of UK electrical and renewable energy standards.

Overview:We're partnering with a well-established and fast-growing renewable energy company that develops and operates distributed utility-scale solar and energy storage assets across the U.S. With hundreds of megawatts in operation and over $1.5B invested into clean energy infrastructure, this organization is a major force in the commercial and industrial renewable space.This Project Manager will play a critical role on the Projects and Engineering team, overseeing the construction, interconnection, commissioning, and testing of battery energy storage systems (BESS) from development through operation.
