As part of the Asset Management team, the role holder will be responsible for:
Coordinating O&M subcontractors for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets, including preventive maintenance plans, corrective actions, and on-site activities.
Conducting site visits and field inspections in collaboration with the O&M Contractor.
Overseeing and managing all relevant contracts (EPC, Finance Agreement, Market Participant, O&M, Asset Management, etc.) from a technical perspective.
Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the BESS portfolio, such as grid operators, utilities, and main contractors.
Supporting the Corporate Asset Management team from both a commercial and technical standpoint.
Applying strong knowledge of the UK electricity markets, regulations, and stakeholder landscape.
Identifying and implementing optimisation initiatives within BESS operations.
Managing QHSE issues alongside the Asset Manager.
Assisting with warranty claims.


Key Responsibilities

Managing and overseeing contracts from a technical perspective.
Monitoring asset performance and KPIs, recommending corrective actions where necessary.
Preparing detailed reports and presentations.
Providing technical support and detailed KPI calculations for the full BESS portfolio.
Anticipating technical issues and identifying potential improvements for asset performance.
Tracking permits and regulatory requirements related to asset management and O&M activities.


Requirements

3-5 years' experience in renewable energy or a related field, ideally with exposure to battery storage.
Degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret large datasets.
Proficiency with office software and familiarity with data analysis tools.
Proactive mindset, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and focused on delivering value

This company have been a mainstay in the market for over a decade, and have been on a superb run of form for a number of years leading into 2025 and are showing no signs of slowing down through the rest of the year. Within the current renewable energy sector in the UK, stability is a key consideration when identifying a new role. This company are hugely stable on both a financial level and also when it comes to their project portfolio. They are backed by a world class international investment firm, and are currently working on a multi-GW pipeline of utility scale Solar and BESS projects.Our client take these projects from inception, through development, and into the RTB stage. In the Gate2 process, they maintained their entire project portfolio, and have had a high volume of success in the planning space - keeping their 100% consent record intact, which is a hugely impressive statistic.This company has reviewed their strong position in terms of funding and project portfolio, and have implemented some very exciting plans to add a delivery and construction team to their in-house capabilities to transition into a fully fledged IPP.
