We are supporting an IPP who were originally founded in the UK, and are now looking to expand their German team with a HV Engineer!

 

  • Role: High-Voltage Engineer (m/f/d) / Hochspannungsingenieur (m/f/d)
  • Location: Germany. Offices in Berlin & Munich, can be flexible working/remote. Need to meet in Berlin/Munich once a month.
  • Salary:Up to €120, 000 per annum.

 

The business has 380 MW of grid-connected BESS projects with a further 90 MW under construction in Europe. For their German pipeline, they are aiming to have 500 MW+ in operation by the end of 2028, meaning you will have plenty of projects to get started with!

 

They are looking for a person who will be the main expert for grid connections and high voltage engineering in the German team. You will have support from engineers who specialise in BESS on the UK team, but you will have a full scope of responsibility for grid connections in Germany.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Be the main point of contact on the German team with securing grid capacity, providing support both before and after application submission.
  • Offer technical liaison and support relating to Distribution System Operator (DSO) interfaces.
  • Support pre-contract readiness and work closely with procurement on delivery-phase activities.
  • Take ownership of defining scope and delivering electrically focused projects.
  • Provide engineering leadership and guidance when the Head of Engineering is unavailable.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience with high voltage engineering, alongside high voltage grid connections in Germany.
  • Electrical Engineering degree or similar.
  • Knowledge of VDE-A-RN 4120 and experience complying with this in Germany.
  • Experience communicating with DSOs/TSOs in meetings & via phone call.
  • Understands the differences with regional DSOs and how to liaise regarding grid access.
  • A person with an electrical & commercial background would be highly valued e.g. stakeholder management.
  • Fluent German & English (C1/C2) is required.
  • Onshore renewables experience is required. BESS experience is a bonus, but not a necessity!
