As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll actively be involved in their Engineering team working towards their portfolio of high voltage projects. You will be responsible for the design of high voltage electrical infrastructure and follow projects from the concept to the construction phases. Role: Electrical Design EngineerLocation: Bristol, UK (Hybrid)Salary: £55,000-£60,000 plus bonus Key Responsibilities: Design of HV substations and electrical infrastructure (11 kV to 132 kV)– including substation building layouts, primary substation equipment layouts, busbar designs, primary equipment specificationsProtection & Control design– preparation of protection SLD’s, protection scheme specifications, protection & control schematics, protection coordination reports, relay configuration files.HV Cable Design– design and verification of cable designs, cable ampacity rating calculations & reports using standard manufacturers data and finite analysis software packages (Cymcap).Engage directly with clients, consultants, and DNO/TNO representatives to deliver projects on time and to specification Skills: Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)Previous experience in electrical design, possibly within electrical contracting or utilities sectorsStrong technical knowledge of power engineeringAbility to manage multiple design projects and meet conflicting deadlines

Their portfolio of projects is extremely healthy with over 7GW of projects at various stages in the project lifecycle. This pipeline is made up of both transmission and distribution level connections, with this role focusing heavily on DNO level connections. Their pipeline is across various stages of the development lifecycle, ranging from early development stages and through constrcution into energisation and operation stages. Additionally, they have NSIP projects with other developers in the sector.They have been in the space for over a decade, and have grown significantly within this time. This is partly due to their strong investment partner who focuses on strong origination, development and asset management of the projects. The overall group now has pipeline across the UK, Australia and the US. Their pipeline now includes solar, wind and storage as well as behind the meter technology.The Role:The team is hiring for this position due to strong growth and grid prospects. The team already has 2 experienced members, and is seeking a third member to extend their knowledge and understanding.The main responsibilities will be: Managing grid connection portfolios for both transmission and distribution level connection agreements for projects ranging in size, up to and including 50MW+ .Working closley with distribution and transmission operators for these connection agreements, liaising for grid offers and managing grid milestones. You'll also be working closley with consultancies for these offers. Working with internal developments and construction teams for these milestones also . Position Overview:You will be involved from early-stage engineering through to commissioning, taking ownership of the electrical design and technical coordination of grid connection & substation infrastructure.
