Piper Maddox is supporting a global IPP in strengthening its team through the critical hire of a Solar Technician. With an exciting international pipeline of over 20GW across Solar PV and BESS technologies, the company is continuing its growth and looking to expand its operational capabilities.

As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out operations and maintenance activities across utility-scale, ground-mounted Solar PV plants and BESS assets. This role requires a fully qualified electrician with experience in operating and maintaining MW-scale power plants, along with strong DC and HV electrical competencies.

Location: Dublin

Salary: £50,000

Key responsibilities:

  • Adherence to and management of health and safety requirements at all times and helping to maintain and improve safety standards across the plants.
  • Perform inspection, testing and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Undertaking AC and DC system testing, troubleshooting and fault-finding.  
  • Maintain close communication with the O&M office and wider team functions.

Must haves:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of solar PV technology is essential.
  • Knowledge of central inverters is highly desirable.
  • Solar PV installation and O&M experience (MW-scale or large commercial ground-mount).
  • Battery storage installation and O&M experience (MW- scale) is desirable.
  • Strong technical understanding of AC, DC, SCADA, instrumentation and communications networks.
