Projects: Utility-Scale PV

Location: Hamburg Region (within a few hours, up to Berlin)

Salary: ~€100,000 + benefits

Work model: Hybrid (typically 1–2 days in office)

The Role

A growing renewable energy developer is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead utility-scale solar PV projects from permitting through to COD, and potentially through to project sale/divestment depending on the company’s strategy.

You will take ownership of projects across the development and delivery

lifecycle, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful project execution.

As the pipeline grows, there is potential for this role to evolve into a leadership position, with the opportunity to build out a small project team in the future.

Company Overview

  • Strong 2 GW development pipeline
  • Several hundred MW expected to be realised within the next 1–2 years
  • Backed by a major private equity investor in renewable infrastructure
  • Long-term investment horizon (5–7 years) with strong capital backing
  • One of the fastest growing renewable infrastructure platforms in Europe
  • Stable growth environment — the business is well capitalised and expanding, not in survival mode

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage utility-scale solar PV projects from permitting through construction to Commercial Operation Date (COD)
  • Coordinate with engineering, permitting, grid, and external stakeholders
  • Lead internal project meetings and ensure timelines and milestones are achieved
  • Support project delivery strategy, including potential project sale during development
  • Monitor risks, budgets, and schedules across the project lifecycle

Key Requirements

  • 3–4+ years’ experience in project management within large-scale renewable energy projects
  • Experience delivering utility-scale PV projects
  • Fluent German (required for meetings and internal communication)
  • Technical background (electrical or civil engineering) beneficial but not essential

Working Environment

  • 20-person team distributed across Northern Germany
  • Hybrid structure with 1–2 office days per week
  • Travel expenses covered
  • Company car or car allowance depending on location and travel needs
