About the Company

A privately owned energy infrastructure business active in the development, ownership, and operation of utility-scale renewable generation and battery energy storage assets. The organisation participates directly in wholesale power markets and contract-based offtake structures, with a strong emphasis on revenue optimisation, market risk management, and data-driven commercial decision-making across its asset portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Market & Revenue Modelling

  • Develop, maintain, and own internal commercial and revenue models for a portfolio of solar and battery storage assets.
  • Convert third-party market forecasts into asset-level and portfolio-level revenue projections.
  • Model a range of commercial exposures, including merchant revenue, long-term offtake agreements, optimisation contracts, and hybrid structures.
  • Run sensitivities on key assumptions such as power prices, capture rates, volatility, dispatch behaviour, degradation, and operational constraints.
  • Ensure modelling outputs are transparent, robust, and suitable for senior management, lenders, and external advisers.

Offtake Strategy & Commercial Analysis

  • Analyse and compare route-to-market options for renewable and storage assets across different market conditions.
  • Evaluate the trade-offs between contracted and merchant exposure on a risk-adjusted basis.
  • Support the structuring and assessment of power purchase agreements, tolling and optimisation arrangements.
  • Provide quantitative input into commercial negotiations with offtakers, aggregators, and trading counterparties.

Investment & Financing Support

  • Produce revenue forecasts, downside cases, and sensitivities suitable for project finance and refinancing processes.
  • Support investment committee decisions through scenario analysis and valuation inputs.
  • Contribute to due diligence processes by ensuring consistency between internal assumptions and external market benchmarks.

Market Insight & Risk Assessment

  • Interpret external market forecasts and scenarios, assessing their implications for asset performance and portfolio strategy.
  • Evaluate revenue risk, merchant exposure, and key drivers of downside outcomes.
  • Monitor actual versus forecast performance to improve assumptions and modelling accuracy over time.
  • Support the development of hedging and risk mitigation strategies for renewable and storage assets.

Capability Development

  • Continuously improve internal modelling frameworks, tools, and data processes.
  • Support the development of best-practice commercial analytics within the organisation.

Experience & Background

  • Strong experience analysing electricity markets, with a clear understanding of pricing dynamics and revenue streams for renewable generation and/or battery energy storage.
  • Professional background within an asset owner, utility, energy consultancy, trading house, or similar commercial energy environment.
  • Proven ability to build and manage detailed commercial or revenue models for infrastructure assets.
  • Experience working with external market forecasts and revenue scenarios.
  • Advanced spreadsheet modelling skills; additional data or coding capability is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with offtake structures such as PPAs, merchant exposure, and optimisation agreements.
  • Experience supporting investment decisions, acquisitions, or project finance processes is advantageous.
  • Able to translate complex market analysis into clear, decision-ready insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Typically 5+ years’ experience in an analytical role within the energy, infrastructure, or related sectors.
