As part of a larger international energy group’s renewable energy division, the company plays a key role in advancing global energy transition initiatives and expanding renewable energy deployment across emerging markets.
To date, the business has successfully developed, designed, installed, and delivered multiple multi-megawatt renewable energy projects across Africa. These projects have incorporated both Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), demonstrating extensive expertise in utility-scale renewable energy delivery.

While the organisation has historically focused on delivering solar projects throughout Africa, it is now expanding its reach internationally, reflecting growing global demand for its expertise and a broader ambition to develop and deliver a wider range of renewable energy technologies worldwide.

They are looking for candidates with:

- 5-8 years renewable energy industry experience
- Multiple technology experience across both utility scale solar and BESS projects
- Electrical Engineering degree or demonstrable experience
- Flexibility to travel abroad

Role: Electrical EngineerLocation: LondonSalary: £60,000 – £70,000 Key Responsibilities Provide electrical engineering expertise throughout the development lifecycle of renewable energy projects, supporting feasibility studies, concept design, and project delivery.Review and approve electrical system designs, including SLDs, protection schemes, earthing designs, and grid connection solutions for wind, solar, battery storage, and hydrogen projects.Manage grid connection activities, acting as the primary interface with DNOs, NESO, and ICPs to secure and progress connection offers through to energisation.Lead ICP tender processes, including defining scope, evaluating submissions, selecting contractors, and ensuring technical compliance. Required Experience Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (Master's preferred), or equivalent industry experience.Proven experience supporting the design, development, construction, or grid connection of renewable energy projects, particularly within solar PV, wind, BESS, or similar infrastructure.Strong understanding of UK grid connection requirements, including G99/G100 standards, Grid Code compliance, DNO/NESO processes, and the regulatory requirements associated with connecting generation assets.Solid technical knowledge of HV and EHV systems (11kV–400kV), including network design, protection coordination, and electrical system integration. Senior Surveyor - Energy, Utilities, & Infrastructure Projects Ayrshire Office Scotland: Office Presence required with hybrid options available Salary Range: Up to £40,000 + wider company benefits Piper Maddox are currently working alongside a long standing name in the rural & agricultural sector to assist in the growth of their Energy & Utilities team based in Scotland. Our client was founded over 100 years ago and have built up an excellent reputation and track record for providing specialist land & property services to their client base. Skipping forward to 2026, their Energy & Utilities team is currently their largest function and is a hugely exciting growth area for the business going forward. This company work across a wide variety of technologies and infrastructures including renewable energy, grid infrastructure, land diversification, and utilities. They are looking to add a Senior Surveyor, and the ideal level of experience here would be someone who is 1-2 years post APC qualification. In terms of industry body, it would be great to speak with candidates with MRICS or CAAV accreditations. In this role, you would be responsible for contributing to matter such as: > Delivering key land matters such as wayleaves, easements, land access rights, CPO, valuations, as well as contributing to potential land acquisition matters. > Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key rural/agricultural stakeholders including landowners, estates, and local authorities. > Manage client instructions from inception through to completion, as well as preparing fee estimates and quotations within bodies of work for approval. > An element of business development to promote company services and win new pieces of work for the Energy & Utilities team as well as potentially for other areas of the business.
