Our client is a fast‑growing energy‑transition company founded by a team of experienced professionals. The organisation develops large‑scale stationary battery storage projects as well as private grid‑connection infrastructure for renewable energy assets in France.

The company manages the full value chain, from early development and grid‑connection design to construction, commissioning, and long‑term operation, with the ambition to accelerate the deployment of clean energy. A major fundraising round in 2025 with a globally recognised investor now supports the next phase of growth and structuring.

As several projects enter construction and others approach the contractual negotiation stage, the company is creating a new position: Energy Markets Engineer (Storage).

Reporting to the Head of Energy Markets, the role will act as a key interface with aggregators during both construction and operational phases, while also contributing to contract negotiations for upcoming projects.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic, low‑inertia environment composed of experts across all verticals.

The role

1. Interface with Aggregators During Construction & Certification

  • Participate in meetings with aggregators, EPC contractors, and O&M providers throughout the construction phase.
  • Understand and monitor technical and operational interfaces.
  • Track all steps required for battery certification on system services.

2. Contract Negotiation for Market Access (Future Projects)

  • Compare aggregator offers and support the selection of the most competitive proposals.
  • Contribute to contractual negotiations for battery market access, in close collaboration with the Finance and Technical teams.

3. Process Implementation for the Operational Phase

  • Prepare and monitor the billing framework with aggregators ahead of commercial operation, in coordination with Finance and Accounting teams.
  • Support internal audits related to battery revenues and O&M interfaces.
  • Collect and structure market‑revenue performance data for lender reporting, in collaboration with the Finance department.

4. Revenue Forecasting & Coordination with Forecasters

  • Anticipate and analyse available revenue forecasts for battery assets.
  • Monitor forecast updates and align with the Finance team on revenue expectations.

5. Market Monitoring & Regulatory Affairs

  • Track developments in electricity markets and assess impacts on battery revenues and operations.
  • Participate in conferences, working groups, and advocacy meetings related to market design and regulatory topics.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree (General Engineering or Business School with an Energy specialisation).
  • 3–5 years of experience in the energy sector, ideally with an aggregator, producer, or supplier.
  • Strong understanding of electricity markets and revenue streams associated with battery storage (system services, spot markets, balancing mechanism, capacity mechanism).
  • Experience in contract negotiation or contract management is an asset.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Rigorous, organised, and able to synthesise complex information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ease in managing discussions with partners and internal teams.
