Senior Project Developer

We are currently supporting a leading european developer and IPP in the search for an experienced Senior Project Developer to join their growing German development team.

 

This position will play a key role in originating, developing, and delivering utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across Germany. The successful candidate will manage projects through the full development lifecycle, working closely with land acquisition, permitting, grid, engineering, and commercial teams to bring projects from greenfield identification through to ready-to-build status.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects across Germany
  • Identify and assess new development opportunities
  • Coordinate land acquisition activities alongside internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage permitting and approval processes
  • Engage with municipalities, authorities, landowners, consultants, and grid operators
  • Coordinate environmental, technical, and planning studies
  • Monitor project risks and development budgets
  • Support commercial negotiations and project optimisation
  • Prepare projects for investment decisions and construction handover
  • Contribute to market analysis and strategic development activities

 

Profile

  • Several years of renewable energy project development experience in Germany
  • Strong knowledge of German permitting and planning processes
  • Experience developing utility-scale solar, BESS, or wind projects
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Commercially minded with excellent project management capabilities
  • Fluent German and English
  • Degree in Engineering, Geography, Environmental Sciences, Renewable Energy, Business, or similar
