Salary Expectations: $120,000 - $150,000 + bonus

 

Piper Maddox have been assigned to a leading US infrastructure platform in the renewable energy industry as they continue to scale their investment team. This Finance Associate will be involved in the underwriting of equity investments into utility-scale projects serving utilities and data centers, this includes both in-house greenfield projects and potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

 

The Finance Associate will also support the Structured Finance team in raising capital and project finance for projects ready for construction, thereby gaining experience across the whole capital stack for renewable energy projects.

 

What you will do

  • Lead underwriting and financial modeling for utility-scale investments, including acquisition and development
  • Support the evaluation and execution of prospective investments through financial modeling, due diligence coordination, and participation in deal structuring, negotiation, and transaction execution
  • Support debt and tax credit financing transactions through financial modeling, due diligence coordination
  • Assist in the preparation of investment committee memoranda and Board materials supporting greenfield and M&A investment approvals

 

What you will have

  • Hand on experience in structured financing/investment opportunities within renewable energy
  • 2-4 years of experience in either investment banking, project finance roles with renewable energy developer or investment firm
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into clear conclusions and auditing transaction models

What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field. 2–4 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, infrastructure finance, renewable energy, corporate finance, or financial modelling. Strong financial modelling and valuation skills with exceptional attention to detail. Experience supporting project finance, acquisitions, or structured finance transactions is highly desirable. Understanding of renewable energy markets is preferred but not essential. Advanced Excel modelling skills and proficiency with PowerPoint. Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
