Piper Maddox is partnering with a growing renewable energy and industrial services organization supporting digester-based biogas infrastructure across the U.S. This is a hands-on field leadership opportunity focused on the construction, commissioning, and maintenance of anaerobic digester and RNG facilities within a multi-site operating environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support digester installation and field execution activities across multiple active biogas and RNG sites
  • Oversee mechanical construction activities including bolt-up installs, piping tie-ins, roof systems (membrane/gas-tight), mixers, pumps, and gas handling systems
  • Perform troubleshooting and real-time problem solving on digester and biogas system issues in the field
  • Read and execute from P&IDs, engineering drawings, OEM manuals, and technical specifications
  • Coordinate daily with general contractors, site managers, engineers, OEMs, and field crews to ensure safe and efficient project delivery
  • Support commissioning, startup, and operational ramp-up of biogas and RNG systems
  • Conduct site inspections, ensure quality control, and maintain adherence to safety and project specifications
  • Train, develop, and supervise field crews and subcontractors across active job sites
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously across different geographic locations
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols including confined space, H2S, and gas hazard procedures
  • Maintain clear communication and reporting to leadership regarding project progress, risks, and execution status

 

Qualifications and Background:

  • 8–12+ years of experience in biogas, anaerobic digestion, heavy industrial construction, or field project execution
  • Strong hands-on experience with digester systems, including installation, maintenance, cleanouts, or commissioning
  • Background in mechanical field work including pumps, mixers, piping systems, gas handling, and rotating equipment
  • Ability to read and execute from engineering drawings, P&IDs, and OEM documentation
  • Experience leading field crews, subcontractors, or multi-disciplinary site teams
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability in live field environments
  • Exposure to commissioning/start-up activities within biogas or industrial process systems highly preferred
  • Confined space entry, H2S awareness, and other relevant safety certifications preferred
  • Willingness to travel across active project sites in the U.S.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate in fast-paced, field-heavy environments

RNG Plant Manager- IOWA

Our client is seeking an RNG Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of a new renewable energy facility in an Iowa town just ~30min from Omaha, NE. This role will manage the plant’s resources, responsible for optimizing plant performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and leading a team of operators and technicians. This is a rare opportunity to join a growing team at the ground floor of a major project, in this role, you're encouraged to run this plant like a small business working in a decentralized model environment.
