Commissioning Technicians Initial 6mth term, with goal of a longer term contract Location - various across Northern Virginia *Local candidates strongly preferred (Northern Virginia / DC metro); travelers also accepted **Typical schedule around 40 hours/week, likely closer to 50 with schedule recovery, no excessive-hours arrangements SCOPE OF WORK Acceptance and functional testing of low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear and the associated auxiliary electrical equipment supporting data centers: panel-to-equipment connections, cable and wiring checks (continuity, polarity, insulation), and functional testing of protection and control systems. The work is on the supply and auxiliary equipment supporting the facilities, not on the inside-the-data-center systems. Data center experience is not mandatory; any mission-critical or industrial commissioning background works. We have two levels and multiple openings. Compensation will varying depending on experience. SENIOR TESTING & COMMISSIONING TECHNICIAN Minimum 10 years in testing and commissioning Performs continuity checks and validates all panel and equipment wiring Functionally tests and troubleshoots control and communication-based systems Working knowledge of primary electrical equipment (assembly, operation, ratings) and of secondary electrical systems Able to set up, configure and operate primary and secondary electrical test equipment NETA certified, or qualified to be (preferred) Leads a crew of two and is comfortable mentoring a junior technician TESTING & COMMISSIONING TECHNICIAN Around 5 years of relevant testing and commissioning experience Comfortable with wiring verification, continuity/polarity checks, multimeters and insulation testers, and reading wiring diagrams and single-lines Works as second seat on the crew, under the senior technician REQUIREMENTS (BOTH LEVELS) OSHA 10, mandatory NFPA 70E, required
