Piper Maddox has partnered with a very prominent global provider of mobile and modular power, heating, and cooling solutions, supporting industries ranging from large-scale data centers to major events, industrial operations, and remote communities. As they scale their support for data center developers, they're looking for a Senior Application Engineer to take lead engineering responsibility for process, procedures, specifications, and design.

 

About the Role

This is a client-facing engineering role at the center of some of the fastest-moving power infrastructure projects in the country. You'll design and specify independent power production solutions, combining generators, battery energy storage, solar PV, and other variable resources, that meet rapid deployment timelines, high reliability and power quality expectations, and efficient fuel usage.

 

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a client-facing engineering lead, building designs and reviewing technical specifications
  • Analyze equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs producible with existing manufacturing or processing capabilities
  • Analyze engineering proposals, process requirements, and technical data related to industrial machinery and equipment design
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software/tools to perform engineering tasks
  • Determine feasibility of new applications, weighing cost, space, timeline, and other technical and economic factors
  • Provide technical guidance on applications, materials, properties, and process advantages/limitations affecting planning
  • Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline (ABET-accredited or equivalent); other backgrounds considered with relevant energy industry experience
  • 6-8+ years of relevant experience
  • Resourceful problem-solver with proven experience collaborating across stakeholders to reach successful project outcomes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; technical writing background a plus
  • Strong technical knowledge in the energy field, with excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to travel 30%+ and hold a valid driver's license as required
