☀️ SOLAR DESIGN ENGINEER | GERMANY 🇩🇪
I'm currently working with an established international renewable energy company that is looking to add an experienced Solar Design Engineer to its growing engineering team in Germany.
This is a great opportunity for someone who already has a solid background in solar PV design and is looking to take the next step in their career within a business working across a range of renewable energy projects.
The company is involved in the development and delivery of commercial, industrial and utility-scale solar projects, with growing involvement in battery energy storage and hybrid systems.
🔧 THE ROLE
As a Solar Design Engineer, you'll be involved throughout the engineering and design process, working closely with project managers, engineers and other technical teams.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing solar PV, BESS and hybrid renewable energy systems
  • Carrying out LV and MV electrical design
  • Preparing technical drawings, calculations and engineering documentation
  • Developing and reviewing engineering deliverables
  • Supporting grid connection and technical compliance requirements
  • Ensuring designs meet relevant German standards and regulations
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues
  • Supporting projects from early-stage development through to delivery
  • Collaborating with international engineering and project teams

👤 WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who has:
  • 2+ years' professional experience in solar PV design or engineering
  • Experience working within an IPP, EPC or similar renewable energy environment
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • Fluent German (C1+) and good working English
  • A good understanding of electrical systems and renewable energy technologies
  • Experience with German grid standards and grid connection requirements
  • Knowledge of BESS, hybrid systems or MV systems would be highly beneficial

You don't need to tick every single box to be considered. If you have strong solar PV experience and the right technical background, I'd still be interested in speaking with you.
🌱 WHY CONSIDER IT?
This isn't simply another solar design position.
You'll be joining a business operating in a growing part of the renewable energy market, with the opportunity to work on varied and technically interesting projects rather than focusing on one type of system.
You'll also be working alongside an international engineering and project delivery team, giving you exposure to different markets, technologies and project requirements.
For the right person, it's an opportunity to build on their existing solar experience while gaining further exposure to BESS, larger-scale projects and more complex electrical engineering work.
📍 Location: Germany
If you're currently working in solar PV design / engineering and are open to hearing about a new opportunity, I'd be happy to have a confidential conversation and give you more information about the role.
