Senior Grid Manager

Leading IPP working across PV and BESS.

Location – Offices in Milan offering hybrid working.

Salary - €85,000- €90,000.

Senior Grid Manager role with a leading IPP, who are looking to grow their team through this crucial addition to concentrate on the communication with Terna and Enel. This IPP focuses on building and operating a diversified portfolio of solar and energy storage assets across Europe with this role being based in their Italian branch.

Within this role, you will have the opportunity to oversee the grid connection processes across a strong pipeline of projects in Italy. This role also is able suitable for individuals who are more aligned with a hybrid working style.

This company is a leading firm who currently have a strong pipeline of projects including a 100 MW BESS project following the MACSE auction, making this position an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at the forefront of Europe’s renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Managing the grid connection processes through communicating with Terna and Enel for their pipeline of renewable energy projects for both MV and HV connections.

-          Secondly, a key part of this role will concentrate on the electrical design and layouts for the projects focusing on HV and MV systems.

-          Overseeing the full lifecycle of the projects starting in the development phase through to the construction phase. This will include supporting teams throughout the construction phases and relevant stakeholders in this process.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
  • 10 years of experience in HV/MV grid connection management for utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of Italian grid codes, permitting processes, and interface requirements with Terna and E-distribuzione.
  • Fluent in Italian & English.

The site runs 24/7 and produces renewable hydrogen for transport and industrial use. You’ll lead a small team of shift operatives and technicians, ensuring the plant operates safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and environmental standards. You’ll be the link between site operations, engineering support, and senior management.
