Piper Maddox is partnered with one of the nation’s top renewable energy contractors to hire their next Project Accountant. This company has specialized in utility and commercial scale solar construction for over 20 years, supporting leading public utilities, EPCs, and energy companies. The company prides itself on providing the highest quality and customer satisfaction in the industry.

 

Their next Project Accountant is a critical hire, as he/she will own the planning, forecasting, and reporting of the Business Units at the project level. This key contributor will partner with Project Managers and Operations leaders to create and implement project controls, system upgrades, and new project management solutions. This person will drive influence across key reports: monthly expense analysis, headcount, revenue backlog, gross profit, etc.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Cost accounting at the project level, variance analysis, controls, forecasting, job cost review,
  • Ability to oversee upwards of 100 projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and the highest level of accuracy
  • Superior relationship building with Project Managers and cross-functional teams

 

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional technical accounting skillset with extensive experience with US GAAP and WIP accounting, percent of completion, revenue recognition.
  • Deep expertise with Excel including the ability to rebuild and improve cost and WIP models.
  • Job cost experience with a physical asset project, preferably in construction.

The platform manages a growing 3 GW clean-energy development portfolio spanning solar, storage, and flexible power solutions, backed by leadership with extensive project development and financing experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to take a central role in project valuation and capital markets activities across the full lifecycle of energy projects. You will lead advanced financial modeling and valuation efforts, support debt and tax equity financings, and provide strategic market and project insights to guide investment and development decisions. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to evaluate capital structures, manage financing processes, and prepare investor-ready materials, all within a lean and entrepreneurial environment.
