Piper Maddox have recently partnered with an Automotive business that designs and builds highly customized specialty vehicles for a variety of commercial and consumer end markets.

Together, we are searching for a Product Design Engineer to join the team. They've developed their own engineering approach that lets them configure vehicles for very different customer needs without starting from scratch each time, and they move from design to finished product faster than most shops in the space.

They're a small, lean, fast-moving team with a culture built around craftsmanship and doing high-quality work. Engineers here take real ownership of their subsystems — from initial design, through CAD, through manufacturing, and into post-sale support — giving them broad exposure across the business rather than a narrow lane.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • In the short term, completing Rendering tasks. Overtime this will evolve into full design.
  • Overseeing all system design.
  • Design and 3D model interior modules — cabinetry, medical and food equipment integrations, mounts — and own the module library as the single source of truth.
  • Develop vehicle configurations and packaging layouts for customer proposals, validating fit, weight, and power budgets

Background

  • Must have an Engineering degree, ideally a double engineering degree.
  • Experience with NX and any other rendering software.
  • They will need to be well versed balancing a number of custom projects.
  • Start up experience would be great.
