Senior Solar PV Design Lead
Location: Warrington, Hybrid
Salary: £60,000 DOE

My client is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Senior Solar PV Design Lead to play a central role in the expansion of their pre-construction function. My client is committed to clean energy solutions, they deliver end-to-end energy services-from strategy to installation and long-term operation-for clients across the public and private sectors.

In this leadership role, you'll take charge of designing advanced solar PV systems for a variety of sites, including large-scale commercial properties and ground-mount developments. You'll manage the design process from initial concept through to detailed planning, while mentoring a growing team and ensuring every project meets the highest technical standards.

What You'll Be Doing
* Leading the pre-construction design of rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.
* Carrying out detailed site assessments and feasibility studies.
* Creating technical layouts and documentation using software like PVsyst, AutoCAD, and PVSol.
* Coordinating with engineers, installers, and external stakeholders (including DNOs and ICPs).
* Preparing planning application packs and supporting the grid connection process.
* Reporting directly to the board with project insights and strategic input.

Skills Required
* A degree in Electrical Engineering.
* 3+ years in designing and specifying PV systems for a variety of applications.
* Proficient in design software relevant to solar energy systems.
* Knowledge of UK grid connection processes and planning regulations (preferred).
* Experience with battery storage solutions is a bonus.
