Our client is seeking a highly motivated RNG Plant Manager oversee the daily operations of a new renewable energy facility in White Plains, KY. This role will manage the plant’s resources, responsible for optimizing plant performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and leading a team of operators and technicians.

 

The facility is scheduled to go online in Spring 2026. This is a rare opportunity to join a growing team at the ground floor of a major project, in this role, you're encouraged to run this plant like a small business working in a decentralized model environment.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Responsible for the operations and maintenance of landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS) supporting a High-BTU landfill gas plant.
  • Supervise and direct technicians and contractors.
  • Monitor performance and optimize processes to maximize gas recovery, efficiency, uptime, and production.
  • Oversee maintenance, repairs, preventive schedules, and contractor coordination.
  • Manage budgets, inventory, procurement, and supplier contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; lead audits and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and enforce plant policies, safety procedures, and best practices.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships with site management, regulators, and local communities.
  • Support corporate and site-level goals for safety, performance, and profitability.

 

What You'll Need:

  • 5-10 years of experience Landfill RNG or gas processing facilities.
  • Strong background in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting
  • Experience with rotating equipment, compression systems, or industrial HVAC/chiller systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-disciplined, self-managing, and proactive; comfortable working independently.
  • Bonus points: Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to landfill gas and renewable energy.
  • Ability to travel to other districts/regions as needed.

Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and support decision-making. Communicate with onsite teams to remotely assist in daily operations and technical problem-solving. Read and apply technical documentation such as P&IDs, electrical drawings, and operating manuals. Log plant activity, generate reports, and provide detailed operational documentation. Collaborate cross-functionally to identify process improvements and enhance system performance. Maintain safety standards, follow company procedures, and ensure compliance with all operational guidelines. What You'll Need: A degree or equivalent experience in engineering, data analytics, environmental science, or related fields. Experience in process plant operations, power generation, or control room environments. Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn RNG or industrial plant processes quickly. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, comfortable collaborating across remote teams. Proficiency in data analytics and technical reporting (Excel, Grafana, Tableau preferred). Ability to interpret technical documents and apply process knowledge effectively. Must be able to pass background and drug screening and travel occasionally (0–10%). Bonus Points If You Have: Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, or Ignition-based HMI software. Knowledge of AI-driven monitoring or automation tools.
