Director of Construction – Clean Energy Projects | NYC!

 

Join a fast-growing clean energy company transforming how cities power the grid. Our client develops, builds, and operates cutting-edge battery energy storage systems that make renewable energy more reliable and efficient, and they’re looking for a Director of Construction to help bring these projects to life.

 

In this senior leadership role, you’ll lead the full construction lifecycle, from preconstruction handoff through commissioning and closeout, building and scaling the systems, teams, and processes that will support a rapidly expanding project pipeline. You’ll oversee contractor performance, safety, quality, and budget execution, while mentoring a high-performing construction team and ensuring every project is delivered to the highest standard.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and scale all construction operations for distributed energy projects across NYC.
  • Drive safety, quality, and schedule performance across all active sites.
  • Collaborate with development and preconstruction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Manage budgets, contractor relationships, and resource planning as the company scales.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Direct experience in the renewable energy or power generation sectors, particularly with medium voltage power systems, grid-interconnection, or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • 10+ years of progressive construction management experience in electrical, power generation, or energy projects.
  • 5 years of experience managing a team.
  • Proven track record managing complex field operations and contractor teams.
  • Strong commercial and budget management acumen.
  • Passion for clean energy and building something from the ground up.
