We’re partnering with a highly respected global engineering business that is at the forefront of energy infrastructure and battery storage technology. The team we’re hiring into is responsible for delivering technically robust, safe and high-performing electrical systems across battery energy storage and grid-connected projects throughout Germany and beyond.

This role calls for an engineer who thrives on taking ownership of complex systems, enjoys working with real assets on site, and wants to build expertise in medium- and high-voltage electrical systems that are critical to the energy transition.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the development of protection concepts and electrical infrastructure for medium- and high-voltage battery storage systems
  • Plan, specify and support the deployment of medium-voltage switchgear and substation components, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards
  • Work closely with project management to plan schedules, integrate designs and ensure smooth construction flows from tender through commissioning
  • Carry out measurements, system testing and fault resolution in low-voltage and control circuits on site
  • Act as a technical point of contact with grid operators during grid connection negotiations and commissioning activities
  • Produce electrical designs and documentation using EPLAN and AutoCAD, including control cabinet and cable routing schematics
  • Support on-site commissioning, including cabling, troubleshooting and acceptance of contractor-performed work

What you bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (Dipl.-Ing., B.Eng., M.Eng.) or equivalent with relevant practical experience
  • AC electrical design experience, ideally with battery storage systems or other large energy systems
  • Proven use of AutoCAD and EPLAN in control cabinet and technical electrical design
  • Hands-on experience in measurement, testing and fault-finding in electrical systems
  • Ability to travel within Germany and occasional abroad (~20%) with a Class B driving licence
  • Fluent communication in German and good working English
  • A proactive, accountable approach with strong collaboration skills and a willingness to take ownership

Why this matters

This isn’t a desk-only drafting role. You’ll be engaged at the heart of projects that support the future of energy infrastructure — from planning and protection concepts through to hands-on commissioning and connectivity with grid networks. You’ll work closely with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions that are safe, efficient and future-ready.
