Job DescriptionThe accounting team is seeking a Senior Accountant — Technical Accounting. Reporting to the Senior Technical Accounting Manager, this role requires understanding of a variety of general accounting topics under U.S. GAAP, such as debt (ASC 470) and PP&E (ASC 360), and exposure to those common in the renewables space, such as variable interest entities and consolidations (ASC 810), debt (ASC 470), and revenue recognition under the commodity contract framework (ASC 842, ASC 815, and ASC 606) and analogous topics under IFRS. Responsibilities: Assist with research and documentation on accounting for non-routine, complex transactions under both U.S. GAAP and IFRS, including preparation of technical memos. Areas of research may include consolidation, revenue, leases, derivatives, dept, PP&E and others as needed.Assist with efforts for adoption of new accounting standards that may be relevant to the company.Assist in development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.Support the financial reporting process, including the drafting of financial statement disclosures and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations and IFRS.Support internal and external audits, including quarterly reviews and annual audits, ensuring full compliance with internal control frameworks.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., development, treasury, finance, and legal) to align accounting treatment with business activity.Actively participate in other ad hoc projects as they arise Required Skills and Competencies Exposure to various topics of U.S. GAAP with the ability to apply accounting principles to complex transactions.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or actively pursuingExperience in the renewable energy or infrastructure sector.Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.Proactive problem-solver who is comfortable taking initiative.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; SAP and Workiva experience a plusHighly motivated with the ability to work extended hours as needed.
