A rapidly growing engineering and advanced technology organization is seeking a PLM Product Lead to support the development and long-term ownership of its enterprise product lifecycle management environment in the Greater Chicago area. This individual will play a critical role in shaping how engineering, product, and manufacturing data is structured, managed, and integrated across the broader organization.

 

This is a highly cross-functional and hands-on role focused on PLM architecture, system ownership, workflow development, and engineering process enablement. The position will serve as the internal lead for the PLM environment, partnering closely with engineering, IT, operations, and external vendors to support scalability and long-term system strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the internal product owner for the PLM environment, managing roadmap priorities and stakeholder alignment across engineering, IT, and operations
  • Own PLM system configuration and administration including user and role management, access controls, workflow development, and system preferences
  • Lead development and maintenance of data models including business objects, attributes, type hierarchies, and relationships through BMIDE or equivalent tools
  • Define and enforce BOM governance, revision control standards, and engineering change workflows including ECO/ECR processes
  • Support and lead integrations between PLM and adjacent engineering systems including CAD platforms such as NX, CATIA, or equivalent environments, as well as ERP systems
  • Translate engineering and operational requirements into scalable PLM functionality, serving as the bridge between technical and business stakeholders
  • Support engineers and end users within the PLM environment, helping drive adoption, process consistency, and system fluency across teams
  • Manage vendor relationships, software licensing, upgrade planning, and broader platform optimization efforts

 

Qualifications / Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 7+ years of experience working within PLM environments, with Siemens Teamcenter strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with PLM configuration, administration, and system ownership beyond basic end-user support
  • Experience with BMIDE or equivalent data modeling and PLM customization tools
  • Strong understanding of CAD-to-PLM integration workflows and engineering data management processes
  • Proven ability to operate both as an individual contributor and as an internal cross-functional product or systems leader
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across both technical and non-technical teams

A major fundraising round in 2025 with a globally recognised investor now supports the next phase of growth and structuring. As several battery storage projects enter construction and move toward commercial operation, the company is creating a new position: Asset Management Lead. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Technical Director and the Head of Energy Markets, this role will structure and oversee all activities related to operations, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and performance optimisation of the battery portfolio.The successful candidate will join a dynamic, low‑inertia environment with deep expertise across all verticals of the business.
