As the organization continues to scale its operations and commercial activities, they are seeking an EHS Lead to support environmental, health, and safety compliance initiatives across the business. Key Responsibilities

  • Support environmental, health, and safety compliance programs across multiple projects and facilities, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate and maintain permits, licenses, regulatory filings, compliance documentation, and required EHS records.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS policies, procedures, work instructions, and training programs.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews, identifying risks and supporting corrective actions.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and regulatory reporting as required.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and support the implementation of new compliance requirements across the organization.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and project teams to promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with EHS standards.
  • Support interactions with regulatory agencies, auditors, and external stakeholders, and assist in preparing reports, metrics, and presentations related to EHS performance.

 

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Environmental, Health, and Safety experience in a regulated industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting permitting, compliance documentation, audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS documentation systems.
  • Experience within nuclear, energy, aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or similarly regulated industries is highly desirable.

This is not a traditional greenfield construction role. The project has already reached commercial operation and is now entering a critical phase focused on project completion, remediation works, technical optimisation, and operational readiness. The successful candidate will act as the owner's on-site representative, managing contractors, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring all outstanding technical and construction activities are delivered successfully. The project is a strategically important energy asset supporting an island grid network and requires an individual with a strong technical background in BESS systems, capable of leading engineering discussions whilst managing project delivery.
