Role: Sr Manager/Director, Energy & Renewables – DG Advisory practice

Location: Preference for SF Bay Area; open to remote USA

Role overview:

  • Core mandate is to originate, lead, and close complex commercial & industrial (C&I) energy transactions end-to-end, including PPAs, ESAs, ground/rooftop leases, BTM DG deals, storage/BESS/fuel cells/related structures.
  • Targeting candidates with proven closed-deal experience (past tense execution), not candidates who were merely adjacent to deals, part of large teams, or pipeline builders without signed transactions.
  • Strong preference for candidates who have personally owned multiple transactions from first conversation through negotiation, structuring, and final execution.
  • Deal size is less important than transaction complexity, ownership level, and ability to navigate sophisticated stakeholders.
  • Will work directly with Fortune 500 corporate energy, sustainability, finance, procurement, and real estate leadership teams, including regular exposure to CFOs, senior executives, and C-suite stakeholders.

Requirements/experience:

  • Mix of responsibilities across:
    • Existing client cross-sell opportunities & relationship expansion within current accounts
    • New business development / self-sourced opportunities
    • Conference networking and market relationship building
  • This is not a pure “dials for dollars” sales role; emphasis is on consultative relationship-led origination and strategic deal creation.
  • Background can be flexible if core skillset is strong. Relevant candidates may come from:
    • Distributed generation solar / storage / BESS
    • Corporate energy procurement
    • Renewable origination / structured sales
    • Energy project finance / investment banking
    • Commercial real estate energy / rooftop / land leasing
    • Broader power markets / energy infrastructure commercialization
